The Higgins Building Condo Lofts has many authentic loft features such as polished concrete floors, original tile, exposed brick and ductwork and the original cage elevators. There is a roof top lounge with amazing city views on the top floor. This landmark building was created in 1910 by copper tycoon Thomas Higgins and designed in the Beaux-Arts style by Architects Arthur L. Haley and A.C. Martin. On the street level of the building, there is Pit Fire Pizza, an art gallery, Groundworks Coffee, Lilya Chinese Café and the Edison Jazz Club. The building was constructed by Arthur L. Haley and A.C. Martin in 1910 and modernized by Barry Shy in 2002.
The lobby entrance has vestiges of classic detailing including mosaic tile flooring, caged elevators rebuilt with birds eye maple, meticulous ironwork, imported marble, original zinc covered doorways and windows. Some units have dramatic views of the downtown skyline and Walt Disney Concert Hall ® .
In the basement of the building is the Edison Lounge®, which was once the boiler room, which supplied power to the office above. The Higgins building is in a great area where Downtown is flourishing again.
